The Three Faces of Evil, Part 5

  • Tyrrich – Elven, Rogue 1, Warlock 3 (male).
  • Garrett – Gnome, Druid 4 (male).
  • Cullen – Elven, Monk 4 (male).
  • Roma - Half Orc, Rogue 2, Barbarian 1, Fighter 1 (male).
  • Janna – Human, Cleric 4 (Wee Jas) (female).

After the dust settled the group inspected the mine shaft. The elevator lift was a complete loss with only bits of wood and twisted metal remaining. The explosion must have weakened the upper mine shaft as well as there were still rocks falling from far above.

The group spent a good amount of time debating leaving the mines using potions of gaseous form to travel up the mine shaft and getting help, or traveling down the last unexplored cavern. Eventually the group reasoned that it was best to “finish the job” they started and continue into the natural cavern to face whatever challenge waited there.

As they explored down the passage, it opened up into a small room filled with stalagmite and stalactites providing cover for the ambushing tactics used by the Grimlocks guarding this path.

Ultimately the group made their way to a cavern that ended at a cliff with a 40 foot drop. There were spikes in the side of the cliff that made a handy ladder of sorts so Roma started to descend while his companions watched on. Half way down the ladder Roma came under attack by hidden archers somewhere on the opposite wall. Cullen spots the snipers and leaps across the chasm to take on the attackers in melee. Roma, unable to see the archers from the bottom of the cavern, sneaks along the cavern floor to see if there’s another way to get behind them. Unfortunately for him he also wandered into the lair of 2 Chokers.

Cullen is fighting 2 Grimlocks in a narrow passageway; Garrett and Tyrrich are trying to fire at the Grimlocks from the cliff top; Roma is getting strangled by 2 Chokers; Janna is trying to get down the cliff without falling… will our heroes survive?

After finding out from the Innkeeper that Balabar Smenk was the one who came and claimed Filge, the group decided that it was time to meet with this notorious mine manager. Roma, the indentured servant to Balabar, went to see if the group could strike a deal with him, and Tyrrich kept an eye on the place from a distance. Soon after Roma and announce his intentions at the front gate to Balabar’s manor, Tyrrich was approached by a thug and asked if he also would join them. Reluctantly Tyrrich agreed. The Whispering Cairn, Part 1

Tyrrich - Elven Rogue 1 (male), works as an errand boy for Mine Manager Moonmeadow. Garrett - Gnome Druid 1 (male), from the Bronzewood Lodge with animal companion Eaus, a giant Badger. Cullen - Elven Monk 1 (male), from the Twilight Monastery as an escort for kalamanthis shipments. Roma - Half Orc Rogue 1 (male), an indentured Miner working his way to freedom.
