The Three Faces of Evil, Part 2

• Tyrrich – Elven, Rogue 1, Warlock 2 (male).
• Garrett – Gnome, Druid 3 (male).
• Cullen – Elven, Monk 3 (male).
• Roma - Half Orc, Rogue 1, Barbarian 1, Fighter 1 (male).
• Janna – Human, Cleric 3 (Wee Jas) (female).

The heroes charge into the guard room of the temple of Hextor to be greeted by cult fanatics with spears to hold them at bay and skeletons dressed in rusty plate mail. More of the red skinned Tiefling guards come out to meet them and one darts down the hall to warn others of the intrusion.

The party effectively engages the room of guards. Half way into the battle they see the same fleet-footed guard runs past them down another corridor shouting warnings to his comrades. Shortly thereafter they see a Dire Boar come charging around the corner focusing on the combat. Indiscriminately the Dire Boar charges into the fray, trampling anyone in its way. The remaining guard disappears down a corridor while the heroes finish off the Dire Boar.

After healing, up the party makes their way into a large room flanked by 2 huge bronze doors. The room has a large statue of Hextor in the middle and sheer walls surrounding it. As they enter they notice a ledge around the room 20 feet off the ground. On this ledge they are mockingly greeted by the leader of this temple as he causes to great bronze door to quickly close.

Trapped inside the room the party engages into combat. Searching for a way to reach their assaulters, Roma notices the statue is ill placed on the pedestal and manages to bull rush it to knock it over to form a ramp to the upper ledge. Once on the upper ledge the heroes were able to engage the leader and his minions directly.

The battle was long and hard but in the end the heroes were victorious, albeit badly injured. With the Hextor temple cleared and looted the adventurers barred the doors and used a few of their rooms to make camp and heal up.
